Schools and education

Getting children excited about the physical, geographical and historical aspects of the Biesbosch. That is one of the goals of the Biesbosch MuseumEiland.

Therefore, we organize educational programs for groups of children. These consist of fun and educational scavenger hunts through the Biesbosch Museum Island. Each scavenger hunt lasts about 90 minutes. As an introduction, we show a 20-minute audiovisual presentation specially made for children. The 'Biesbosch experience' is included in the scavenger hunt.

As a 12-year-old boy, he had to accompany his father to a "griend" (a damp field where willow was grown). There they cut willow twigs together; dirty and hard work. What else did he have to do? And how did he feel? Using the diary, we follow in Aaike's footsteps.
